The SCP Story
Shawn Carter Peterson is a native of Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Vassar College cum laude with a dual degree in Drama and Africana Studies. Since moving to Los Angeles, Shawn has made a name for himself by becoming a recognized staple in tons of national commercials, and print ads. As one of young Hollywood’s up and coming actors, Shawn's appearances on television have varied from one hour dramas like HBO’s Entourage, F/X’s The Shield & FOX’s House to half hour sitcoms likeCBS’ How I Met Your Mother & FOX's Til Death . Most recently, Shawn landed roles on Showtime's United States of Tara, TNT's Franklin & Bash, CBS's $#*! My DAD SAYS, TNT's Common Law & ABC's CASTLE. SCP's was also seenon TNT's Southland and The CW's Hart of Dixie. Most recently he was Guest Starred on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS.
Broadening his breadth of work to also encompass film, Shawn worked on the Lifetime movie Midnight Bayou billed alongside Jerry O'Connell & Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway. He also shared the screen with teen sensation Miley Cyrus in the hit film Hannah Montana-The Movie as well as with Billy Bob Thornton in the film The Baytown Outlaws. Shawn made his blockbuster debut as "Wes" in Stephanie Meyer's THE HOST directed by Andrew Niccol. He followed that up with the role of "Dax" in PITCH PERFECT 2 which became an international hit and was #1 in the US and abroad.

Before Hollywood...
The Director...
Before he came to Hollywood, SCP was an award winning classical pianist having trained at the prestigious Peabody Preparatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland under the tutelage of Dr. Nancy Roldán. Having studied extensively the works of classical masters like Liszt, Chopin & Debussy, Shawn won numerous awards in National and International piano competitions. He continued his studies at Vassar College until he realized he wanted to focus his attentions on theatre & film. Becoming a Dual major in Drama & Africana Studies, SCP expanded his focus from the piano to musical direction of the Vassar College Gospel Choir, A Joyful Noise, as well as the artistic direction of the on campus theatre company The Ebony Theatre Ensemble. While a drama major, SCP began to flourish in lead roles theatre classics such as Tiger Brown in The Threepenny Opera, Trigorin in an adaptation of Chekov's The Seagull and most notably Atreus in his senior production of the Greek tragedy Thyestes for which he garnered the top award for his performance.

Not content only being in front of the camera, Shawn is also a burgeoning director having started his directing career producing, directing and
starring in the film short, THE GIFT. He was a director on Blaine
Teamer’s short film series entitled TRUE GRITS starring Victoria Platt
Tilford ("The Gates", Cover), Emmy nominated songwriter Sy Smith, &
Tony winner Tonya Pinkins. TRUE GRITS traveled to the Cannes Film
Festival and was screened to a sold out- standing room only audience.
Shawn, then, expanded his horizons by creating his own production company, MAESTRO Entertainment, creating & directing music videos as well as short
films, television & web content. His music videos have all aired on
various television networks nationally and internationally &
have gotten notice from critics & artists alike. SCP has also directed and produced short films and television pilots- reality as well as scripted! Shawn Carter

that he is there, people have really begun to take notice...and are
waiting for what is yet to come!
